The Edo State Auditor-General, Mr. Henry Osaretin Odiase, hailed from Uhen in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State. He was born on the 28th January, 1969.
He attended Emokpae Primary School, Benin City, Edo State from 1975 – 1981 where he obtained his First Leaving Certificate after which he proceeded to Eghosa Grammar School, Benin City from 1981 to 1986 where he completed his West Africa Examination Council (WAEC)/ Senior Secondary School
Mr. H.O. Odiase proceeded to the prestigious University of Benin, Benin City from 1998 to 2002 where he successfully completed his Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Accounting. He was awarded Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Accounting with Seconded Class Upper Division. Thereafter, he proceeded for its National Youth Service Corps one year compulsory service to his father’s land where he was awarded its NYSC discharged Certificate.
Education.
In his quest to advance the course of his education to the peak of his profession, he registered with the Nigeria Institute of Management and qualified as Associate Member of the Institute in 2006. He further registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and qualified as an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in 2009. Also, he is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigerian (CITN).
In addition, to further advance his education and career, he was admitted to Wellspring University, Benin City, Edo State in 2019 for his second degree where he completed his Master’s Degree in Accounting in the year 2022.
Mr. H.O. Odiase work experience commenced on the 2nd January, 1990 as a clerical Officer (Personnel Assistant III) in the defunct Primary Schools Management Board, Benin City, a Parastatal under the Ministry of Education. During his National Youth Service Corps assignment between October, 2002 and August, 2003, he taught as a Teacher/Peer Educator on Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDs at the Government Secondary School, Shika, Zaria, Kaduna State.
Thereafter, on his resumption after service year in 2003, he remain posted to Ministry of Education as an Accounts Staff. His appointment as Accountant II was confirmed on the 9th February, 2005 by the Office of the Accountant-General, Edo State. Mr. H.O. Odiase worked in several Ministries, Departments, Donor Agencies etc and occupied various positions as stated below:

Mr. Henry Osaretin Odiase was appointed by the Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki on the 9th of June, 2022 as Auditor-General of Edo State.
Mr. H.O. Odiase is happily married with children.
